The curb ramps on the north side of Forest Park Pkwy at Des Peres Ave have never made sense to me. Likely built at the same time as MetroLink’s Blue Line, these curb ramps don’t connect to anything. In fact, both ramps are blocked from connecting to sidewalks parallel to Des Peres Ave by guardrail. If effect, the guardrail makes these curb ramps functionally useless as it forces all pedestrians to walk in the street instead of using the sidewalks.

And in case you were wondering, no the City of St. Louis does not consider the raised shoulder along Forest Park Pkwy a sidewalk. It only leads to a dangerous dead end, anyways.
